As CEO, Don Meij has turned Domino's into a very proftable enterprise by championing the company's move into online sales ahead of the trend. James Myatt, Australian Power & Gas Listed category/Eastern region James Myatt founded Australian Power & Gas in 2006. This energy and gas retailer services the residential market, primarily on Australia's eastern seaboard. James plans to develop the client base to 700,000 and triple his revenue by 2015. Gary Gardner, FK Gardner & Sons Services category/ Northern region Gary Gardner has been at the helm of FK Gardner & Sons (FKG) for over 36 years. FKG has a number of divisions, with construction, civil, plant hire, commercial development, farming and camp services rounding out the organisation's Queensland-based operations. Ben Lucas, Lucas Earthmovers Services category/Central region Ben established Lucas Earthmovers as a recognised national contracting company in contract mining, civil construction, quarrying and crushing, and site rehabilitation and remediation. Ben has grown what was a small family business to one with over 450 full-time employees and 40 contractors. Simon Crowe, Grill’d Services category/Southern region Simon Crowe opened his frst Grill’d restaurant in 2004. Grill'd sells premium-quality, fresh, healthy burgers and aims to make the burger a guilt-free, healthy meal solution. Simon plans to open 20 restaurants in the next year. Daniel Tucker, Carey Mining Pty Ltd Services category/ Western region In the 1990s, Daniel Tucker established something unheard of at the time in Western Australia: an Aboriginal-owned-and-managed mining company. Carey Mining Pty Ltd is now the largest 100% Indigenous, privately owned and managed contracting company in Australia. Graeme Wood AM, Artology and WildMob Social entrepreneur/Northern region Graeme Wood is founder of the not-for-proft organisations Artology and WildMob. The fagship program of Artology is WotOpera, an innovative opera education initiative for young people. WildMob mobilises community volunteers to undertake vital conservation work in wilderness areas. Professor Peter Klinken, Western Australian Institute for Medical Research Social entrepreneur/Western region Professor Peter Klinken is Director of the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR). Under his leadership, WAIMR continues to make internationally important discoveries with the potential to deliver better treatments for serious diseases within the global community. Geraldine Cox AM, Sunrise Children's Villages, Cambodia Social entrepreneur/Central region Together with her Khmer and Australian colleagues, Geraldine Cox operates Sunrise Children's Villages, Cambodia, caring for more than 200 orphaned, disadvantaged and vulnerable children. Sunrise will soon open a third centre to provide for the needs of over 200 children with HIV. Daniel Almagor, Engineers Without Borders Social entrepreneur/Southern region Daniel Almagor is the founder and former CEO of Engineers Without Borders. The organisation works with disadvantaged communities in Australia and the Asia Pacifc region by providing them with engineering support and advice. Janine Garrett, charmHealth Technology category/Northern region Drawing on her experience as a clinical pharmacist, in 2000 Janine Garrett started developing software for the health industry. Today, charmHealth is a market leader in clinical software, which is used in hospitals and private practice to improve patient care and safety. Patrick Power, PowerHealth Solutions Technology category/Central region Patrick Power founded PowerHealth Solutions in 1995 and in 2000 transformed it into a software development frm to exploit a gap in the marketplace. Today, the company is a market leader in Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland and New Zealand. Dean Ramler, Milan Direct Technology category / Southern region Dean Ramler founded online retailer Milan Direct in 2004 to bring affordable, quality designer furniture to the public. Milan Direct currently ships to 40 countries worldwide including Australia, New Zealand and all over Europe. Damione Wright, Performance On Hand Technology category/Southern region Damione Wright established Performance On Hand to manufacture and distribute high-performance work gloves that enhance productivity and safety. The business has seen 200% growth in the last two years, with an EBIT margin of 20%-30%.
